Multi-Drop Deliveries

Our multi drop service allows multiple consignments to be delivered in a single journey, saving time and streamlining logistics. Whether you have parcels going to different clients, stock for several locations or a mix of urgent and routine items, we plan the route efficiently to ensure everything arrives safely and on schedule. This service is ideal for businesses with multiple deliveries, but it also works for private individuals or organisations sending items to several addresses at once.

Multi drop in a nutshell is when one vehicle has many of your consignments on board and they are to be delivered to multiple locations.

If you’re looking to make multiple deliveries in a single trip our multi drop service is the ideal solution. Instead of sending separate consignments individually, a multi drop delivery allows us to collect and deliver multiple items to different addresses in one journey. This saves time, reduces costs and ensures that all your deliveries are handled efficiently and professionally.

When you book a multi drop delivery with Frigate Express you will need to provide the collection points, delivery addresses and contact details for each consignment and as mentioned before any time or delivery constraints too. From there, we plan the most effective route to ensure your items reach their destinations on schedule. Our drivers are experienced in managing multiple stops, keeping each consignment separate, secure and accounted for throughout the journey.

There are several advantages to using a multi drop service. Firstly, it cuts down on the number of individual trips needed, which can be particularly useful if you are distributing stock to multiple retail locations, sending urgent documents to different offices, or delivering parcels to customers across a city or region. It also reduces the risk of items being misplaced, as a single dedicated driver manages all consignments on that run.

Frigate Express ensures that each delivery, no matter how small or large, is treated with care. Our vehicles are equipped with protective equipment such as load straps and courier blankets to safeguard your goods. Even when handling multiple consignments, we prioritise accuracy and reliability, making sure that each item reaches the correct recipient on time and in the condition it was collected. Any problems will be communicated through to you. Missed deliveries and items returned for delivery are not cost effective or efficient.

For customers who use multi drop deliveries regularly, this service can be tailored to meet specific needs. Regular routes can be scheduled for weekly or daily runs, giving your business predictable, efficient and cost effective courier solutions. For ad-hoc multi drop jobs, our controllers work with you to plan the best route and ensure timely delivery of all items. We will always be upfront in sharing the delivery schedule with you.

The service is not limited to businesses alone. Private individuals sending gifts, event supplies, or collections of parcels can also benefit from a multi drop approach. By consolidating deliveries, you save both time and money while reducing the logistical stress of organising multiple separate shipments.

Because each multi drop delivery involves careful planning, it’s important to provide us with accurate information about each consignment. Details such as the size, weight, and any special handling requirements allow us to allocate the right vehicle and resources. This ensures efficiency, avoids delays, and keeps costs transparent.

Unlike standard courier services that might prioritise single, high volume routes, multi drop deliveries require flexibility, route planning expertise and real time communication. Our drivers maintain contact with our controllers throughout the journey, allowing us to handle any unexpected changes, such as last minute additions, cancellations, or rerouted stops.

Multi drop deliveries can involve a range of consignments, from letters and parcels to larger items. Each consignment is logged, tracked, and monitored until it reaches its destination. This attention to detail gives our customers confidence that every item is accounted for and delivered correctly.

Here’s an example of a recent multidrop route we handled.

Customer is a business selling IT components. Many small boxes which they had to deliver on Friday. Because that’s when he told his customers delivery would be made. Two of his customers needed their stuff before midday. There were 9 items altogether spanning multiple cities. So what did we do? We planned a route where we collect the 9 items from the customer, deliver 2 of the closest, then one of the pre midday deliveries, another item on the way to the second pre midday delivery and the rest were routed so everyone got their items before the end of the day. The route was cost effective for the customer, sensible for the driver and green on the environment.

As we said many times before. We deliver, Pun intended!

Some Frequently Asked Questions about multi-drop deliveries.

  • 1. How many stops can you do in one run?
As many as the route sensibly allows. We've done runs with as little as 5 across the distance of the country, 10 stops across three cities, we've done runs with 50 stops in one city. The limit is what can be delivered safely and on time without the driver losing the will to live. We'll tell you if a run is unrealistic before we take it on.
  • 2. What happens if someone isn't in when you arrive?
We follow your instructions. If you've told us to leave it somewhere safe, we will. If it needs a signature, we’ll give them a call. What we won't do is dump it on the doorstep and hope for the best. Missed deliveries happen. We deal with them properly although we prefer not to redeliver. It’s simply not economical for all involved.
  • 3. Can you give me delivery times for each stop?
Yes to an extent. When we plan the route, we'll share the schedule with you so you know roughly when each stop will happen. Traffic delays, accidents, roadworks are part of the landscape which we have little control over. Either way, you’ll be able to get an update from us whenever you need and if we run into any great delay we will update you.
  • 4. Is it cheaper than booking separate couriers for each delivery?
Almost always yes. One vehicle, one driver, one planned route instead of multiple individual trips. You're not paying for five separate vehicles to do what one can do. The maths speaks for itself.
  • 5. Do you do regular scheduled multi-drop runs?
Yes. If you've got a weekly or daily run. Stock to shops, documents to offices, online orders being sent out that sort of thing we can set it up as a regular job. Same route, same driver, same reliability. No need to rebook every time. Just tell us what you need and how often. We’ll work out the rest.
